Disaster Recovery and Resilience | Green X7
*Posted on behalf of PHN Gold Coast*
This is a disaster recovery and resilience event for health professionals and those who work in the recovery space.
Back by popular demand, we are hosting a second session of the Disaster Recovery and Resiliency Green X7 event. This is an engaging wellbeing session grounded in evidence, translating contemporary psychology and health-behaviour research into simple, everyday practices that protect energy, focus and connection at work.
Using a shared “battery” language, participants reflect on current resilience and stress load, then explore practical strategies across eight wellbeing domains—Purpose, Sleep, Physical Health, Nutrition, Mindset, Fun, Relationships and Friendships. Within the session, we introduce the GreenX7 Battery Check and Wellness Wheel (a quick self-assessment) to identify where people are thriving, functioning or just surviving, and guide a short, personalised recharge plan. Designed for all staff, with particular relevance for crisis and disaster recovery contexts.
Learning outcomes
- Understand the evidence behind sustainable wellbeing and why small, consistent habits work
- Build a shared, stigma-free language for supportive conversations (“How’s your battery?”)
- Complete a fast personal wellbeing snapshot and identify priority recharge actions
- Apply practical micro-strategies to protect energy, mental clarity and connection on the job
- Leave with a simple, individualised plan to sustain performance and reduce burnout risk
Benefit for crisis & disaster roles:
This session gives participants rapid self-checks and a common language to manage load, reduce burnout risk and maintain psychological safety through extended response and recovery periods. It is also a tool that participants can embed for everyday or weekly use, which makes it even more meaningful at high-stress times, as it is something already within their own tool kit.
Morning tea provided (please bring your own water bottle).
This project is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
